Marta was always an inspiration and really knew how to live life to its fullest, traveling the world in many interesting ways.
Was recently thinking of Marta as I geared up for hiking the Long Trail, and sorry to learn she had passed away earlier this year. Marta had generously loaned me her backpacking gear 30+ years ago when I was just starting out.
She and Dick visited me when I first moved to Portland in ’93 which made me feel very happy.
