Hampton Falls- Robert D. Perkins, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2023, after a brief illness with his family by his side.  He was also the recipient of the Boston Post Cane given to the town’s oldest resident.

Bob was born on April 16, 1928, in Hampton Falls NH and was the son of Maurice and Grace (Blake) Perkins.  A life-long resident of Hampton Falls, Bob attended Hampton Academy and later graduated from Bentley College.

Bob enlisted in the army and went on to serve in the Korean War.

Bob was a hard-working individual who worked for several attorneys in Boston in their tax accounting departments.  He finally retired from his daily commute to Boston when he was in his 80’s.  Although retired from the corporate world, Bob continued to assist tax payers and small businesses with their tax returns.

Bob was a compassionate and generous man who devoted himself to his family and community.  His dedication extended beyond his professional life.  He served on numerous committees throughout his life which included being a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 35 of Hampton, Hampton Falls Grange, former Board member of the Hampton Falls Historical Society, former Trustee of the Scholarship Committee, and was the past treasurer and usher at the First Baptist Church of Hampton Falls.

When Bob wasn’t working or volunteering, he spent his free time walking around “the hill” often with his nieces and nephews.  He was happiest tending to his magnificent gardens, birdwatching, and hiking the mountains in New Hampshire.  Always ready for an excellent adventure, Bob traveled the world with friends and family, bringing back interesting treasures from the countries he visited, which he gifted to family in unexpected moments.

Survivors include his sister-in-law Charlotte Perkins, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews that called him Uncle Bobby, and friends that he considered as family.

Besides his parents Bob was predeceased by his sisters Maurine Stard (George), Catherine Lally (Francis), Carol Krebs (Henry), and his brother Richard Perkins.

It was Bob’s wish that there be no services.  Bob’s legacy will live on by the lives he touched with the gift of his wisdom, love, and generosity.  In lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree, feed the birds, or do an act of kindness for someone.
