Posted By Direct Cremation of the Seacoast On August 6, 2022 @ 9:41 am In | 7 Comments

Nottingham, NH – Philip Amazeen went to a better place August 3, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He was best known for Phil’s Restaurant in Barrington. Which he owned and operated for over 40 years. We want to thank all his customers throughout the years. To the ones who knew him well he is now giving hell to the gang in the sky.

He was preceded by his parents Reginald and Gretchen Amazeen and both his brothers Reginald and Raymond Amazeen. He leaves behind his wife Chris who was his whole world, daughter Connie and husband Cory, daughter Naomi and husband Jed, son Alan and wife Felicia and daughter Brianne. He leaves a sister Barbara. All his grandchildren who he loved dearly, we will see him in them everyday. Benjamin, Calvin, Mattie, Kinley, Charlotte, Maxx, Scarlett and Austin. He also leaves so many other family and friends who loved him.

We want to thank the team from Wentworth Hospice. A special thank you goes to Rene and Heather.

He spent his retirement surrounded by his grandchildren. We ask that in lieu of flowers if you would like to donate there is a special fund being set up for his grandchildren. There will be an intimate gathering of family and friends in September.

I hope that Phil and Ted are having coffee and a cigarette before they start arguing. Phil’s was a huge part of our lives. I will never forget the morning “floor show”.. Loved the place and Phil. May you, Chris find some peace . Love Sue Karmeris

Sally Bigelow, Helen Musler, and I used to have breakfast there every week or so. The place was always crowded with locals to eat and chat about the latest, whatever. It was unbelievable how the waitress could memorize all the orders and never mess up.. The place was small but cozy. I sure missed it when it closed.

No one could ever replace Phil and his cooking. Many of us were really sorry when it closed. Now the legend of Barrington has passed on. He will be missed.
