I never knew Peter, but someone that I love and respect loved and respected Peter immeasurably and that is enough for me to understand that his illness and passing was a great loss for all of us.

I knew Peter in Maine for a few years and found him a sensitive,
gracious gentleman. It is good he is at peace, after a
life of creative production. I appreciate having a copy
of “Seeking” to read and re-read.

I wish Peter’s friends and family peace, energy, and curiosity,
in memory of the seeker.

Condolence from Carl Wagner on October 30th, 2017 10:10 am

Phyllis Watson sends her condolences. She reminded me of the interesting paintings Peter produced and that Phyllis was in awe of, casually scattered around his house and apartment.

Condolences to the related of Peter. My father, Charles A. Wagner, and Peter were long time on-again, off-again friends in Arlington. They were the eloquent, odd over-educated, under producing gentlemen, from one perspective. From another, each was doing what he wanted, or could tolerate, to do.

Condolence from David Robinson on November 2nd, 2017 1:20 pm

I’ve known Peter since 1953, when he and I were undergraduates at Swarthmore. We were roommates for a while, and I got a good understanding and appreciation of his unique serious and playful nature. He was best man at our wedding in 1964, and we kept in touch over the years by mail/email, and at Swarthmore reunions.
I admire what Peter created over the years, and I confess I could never quite figure out what he “did for a living”, but I thought it rude to ask. At one point, he told me he was planning to sweep iron filings professionally, and maybe that’s what he did, but I have a feeling he didn’t, at least not professionally.
After all, I haven’t quite decided what I will be when I grow up either.
A delightfully whimsical friend; we will miss his warmth and humor for sure.
