Exeter, NH – Miriam ‘Mimi’ Bull Fairbanks, 93, died peacefully on February 19, 2021 at RiverWoods in Exeter.

She was born on May 26, 1927 in Portland, Maine to the late Wilbur and Anna (Coffin) Bull. Her childhood was spent in Waterford, Maine, where she attended grammar school in a one-room schoolhouse often accompanied by her beloved German Shepard, Fraulein. She went on to study at the University of Maine in Orono before her marriage to John Fairbanks. They settled in Newport, NH, where she raised her family, enjoyed many friendships and volunteered helping other cancer survivors. More recently, she resided in Portsmouth, NH before moving to Exeter.

Surviving family includes her four children: Amy Morro, Beth McParland, Meg Middleton, James Fairbanks, and their spouses. She leaves five grandchildren: Anna Morro, James Morro, Will Morro, Abby Middleton Mondani and Ben Middleton.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Uline and brother, Bill Bull.

Mimi had a smile that lit up any room. She loved spending time with family and friends often with a dog or two by her side. Along with being an avid reader, she loved being outdoors in any weather, the stormier the better. She enjoyed everything nature has to offer. Mimi loved skiing in winter and walking, swimming and sailing during the summer, often spent on the coast of Maine. Cooking was her passion, whether it was for two or twenty, the more the merrier. Many great evenings were spent around her dining room table. Her children and grandchildren will remember her for countless things, especially her warmth and love — but also her incredible oatmeal bread and cinnamon rolls.

A celebration of Mimi’s life will be planned at a later time.
