Mary Ellen Harper

Nashua, NH- Mary Ellen (Diment) Harper, 75, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away on July 15, 2022 from natural causes.

Mary Ellen graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1965 and from the Shephard-Gill School of Practical Nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1971. She lived in Pennsylvania, Germany (where she lived for seven years), California and New Hampshire.  She was proud to support space scientists as an auditor at Lockheed Martin for many years.

She also was a lifelong student.  She obtained her Associates’ Degree from Mount Wachusett Community College in 1981, at the age of 34, and her Bachelors’ of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 2003, at the age of 56.

Mary Ellen had a wonderful hearty laugh and lived independently in every sense of the word.  She was an avid lover of football (especially when she did well in her fantasy league), Red Sox and marching bands.  She enjoyed scratch tickets, dark chocolate and watching wildlife webcams.

Mary Ellen loved music and kept notes of song lyrics that were meaningful to her.  Some of her favorites included Placido Domingo, Elton John, Leona Lewis, Richard Marx, Freddy Mercury, Lewis Capaldi and her most favorite, Neil Diamond. She even listed a Linkin Park song in her notes.

Mary Ellen is remembered by her daughter Ericka and Eric Snyder, grandchildren Maren and Kyle, brother Jim Diment and Kathy McFadden, sister Patricia and Frank Parillo, sister-in-law Irene Diment, nieces and nephews, and her childhood friend Ruth (Dutton) and Paul Aldred.  She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Mary Diment, her brother Joe Diment and many beloved dogs and cats.

Her family will celebrate Mary Ellen’s life together this fall.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Eagle Foundation, whose webcams brought Mary Ellen much joy.
