Madbury, NH – Leonard J. “Lenny” Bean, 62, of Madbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2020 after a long period of failing health. Born in Saco, Maine, he was the son of the late Leon and Mary (York) Bean.

Lenny’s lifelong passion involved carpentry in which he excelled phenomenally. After sustaining injuries from an accident in 2008, he became disabled and has since enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. One of Lenny’s favorite places to visit was the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire where he would take his children growing up throughout the years. He will be remembered for his strong love for sweets, country music and horror movies.

Lenny is survived by his life partner, Lori Lazzara of Madbury, his son, Leon Bean (Jennifer Cantu) of Rochester, his daughter, Stephanie Bean (Michael Khan) of Hampton, Danielle Rich of Lee and his 6 grandchildren; Emerson, Brianna, Leon Jr, Kylee, Trevor and Mackenzie. He also leaves his brothers, Steve and Larry and his sisters, Linda, Patty, Peggy and Tina. His memory will live on with all of his loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. Lenny was predeceased by his mother and father, Mary and Leon and his brother, Allan Bean.

Lenny was most proud of his children (Leon & Stephanie) and all of their accomplishments. What he loved and enjoyed most was being a Grandfather. Lenny was a true fighter and fought hard until the very end leaving his family incredibly proud of him. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to an organization of one’s choice.
