Josephine Berk, age 93, passed away at her son and daughter-in-law’s home in Dover, New Hampshire, on June 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 30, 1928 to Guiseppe and Celestina Pullano in North Bergen, New Jersey, Josephine remained in New Jersey until moving to Connecticut with her husband and children. She later moved to Massachusetts to be near her daughter and grandchildren and later to New Hampshire to be near her son and younger grandchildren.

Josephine was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy and fulfillment was spending time with her family. Her face shone with joy and pride when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were by her side. She loved celebrating the milestones and accomplishments of her family and never missed a chance to send cards ending with ‘Love always, Grandma’. Her life was a powerful lesson in the importance of always putting family first.

Known for her sweet, generous and loving nature, Josephine was also fiercely independent, self-sufficient and resourceful. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew and loved her, especially her two granddaughters, who considered her ‘best friend’ as well as beloved grandmother.

Josephine is survived by her son, Jeffrey, and his wife, Martha, of Dover, NH; her daughter, Celeste, and her husband, David, of Plymouth, MA; grandchildren Philip, Nicholas, Caroline, Joshua and Emily, and great-grandchildren Willow and Myles. She will be forever missed and forever in our hearts.

Josephine, you’re on my mind today. Hard to believe 2 years have gone by. I miss that nice smile of yours. On the shopping bus you always had something interesting to say and was friendly to all. Not forgotten.
