Cumberland, RI – On Monday, July 29th, 2019, Joseph A. Gagne passed away unexpectedly.

Joseph was born March 23, 1954, and resided most of his life in Cumberland R.I.

He was an avid fisherman, and outdoorsman. He never wasted a minute of his life, up before the sun, and always on the go, usually by the ocean. Joe lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed countless adventures, including country music concerts, charter fishing trips, and cruises, with his devoted partner of 20 years, Cyndy.

Joe was a loving, supportive father to his three children, Mathew, Colleen, and Kathleen.
Joe was a proud and gracious grandfather to his six grandchildren and loved spending time playing with all of them.

Joe was a diligent and reliable worker. He was an electrician for many years at Osram Sylvania, and for the last few years at Electric Boat.

He is survived by his long time partner, Cynthia Swafford, of Cumberland, RI, his son, Matthew R. Gagne, and wife Joy, of Warwick RI, daughter, Colleen M. Shultz, and husband Jim of Middleton NH, daughter, Kathleen M. Gregory, and husband Joshua, also of Middleton NH, his sister Theresa Langlois, and husband Gaston, of North Providence, RI, and brother David Gagne, and wife Dianne of Plainville, MA. Joe also leaves behind six grand children, Lorelai and Scarlette Gagne, Avery, Marley, Elliot and Simon Gregory, as well as nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was taken too soon, and will be missed by all.

A gathering will be held in Joe’s honor, Saturday August 3rd, 2019, at Colt State Park, route 114 Bristol R.I., from 10:00 am to 1:00pm, to say farewell and to pay respects to his family.
