So sorry to hear of his passing. We spent many years at ICC. Many years of Friday bowling…super bowl parties…..

Jim was a well liked and highly respected teacher at ichabod by both his students and colleagues. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family…..may he rest in peace.

Jim had a positive impact on many than most will ever know. He was humble, kind, liked humor, but can be just as serious and firm with best of intentions for his students. For this reason, he was honored in appreciation:
” In gratitude for your friendship, we the Class of 1977, dedicate these memories of Ichabod and the beginnings of our lives to you”. With that, during a ceremony, the yearbook was dedicated to him. He remained a special friend to me for years thereafter. He will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Beattie was the mathematical angel in my life. Without his patients and guidance I don’t know if I would have passed math little lone enjoyed it. He was a great man and a wonderful teacher. My prayers git to your family for comfort and peace.
