Gerald D. Fifield Sr.

Rochester, NH – Gerald Dow Fifield Sr, 82, of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away on March 23, 2022, after a period of failing health due to Dementia.

Jerry was born on December 4,1939 to Donald and Mary (Dow) Fifield in Keene, New Hampshire. Jerry graduated from Keene High School in 1958, his love for airplanes and flying drew him into joining the United States Air Force, where he soared to the rank of Master Sergeant and became a flight engineer. His favorite plane to fly on was the C-141. After 29 years of service, Jerry retired but still found ways to give back to his community.

Jerry went on to have seven children, Scott Fifield, Susan (Joe) Dudek, Cindy (Tom) Fitzgerald; Melissa Herrick, Kristen (Michael Mayo) Fifield-Roy, Gerald “Chip” (Amanda) Fifield Jr., Jason (Jessie) Fifield.

Jerry`s grandchildren include Molly Fifield, Caleb Fifield, Megan (Kevin) McFarland, Lucas Perry, Lexi Perry, Brittini Herrick, Megan Herrick, Taytum Herrick, Seth Fifield, Matthew Roy, Adam Roy, Dale Charest, Jacob Fifield, Austin Fifield, Madison Fifield, Savannah Fifield. Great grandchildren, Alivia Fifield-Smith, Izabella Henderson.

Jerry was predeceased, by Sheldon Fifield, William Fifield, and Robert Fifield (his older brothers.) Catherine (Cote) Fifield, mother of Scott, Susan, and Cindy, Ruth (Alden) Fifield mother of Melissa, Kristen, Chip and Jason. He was also predeceased by his grandson Shane Fifield. Jerry is survived by his brother, George Fifield.

One of Jerry`s favorite organizations in which he belonged to were the Masons, a member for 51 years, His home Lodge was, Flint No.11, Stilwell, Oklahoma, he served many different roles for the Mason`s, but his favorite was producing a coloring book for the lodge each year that helped raise funds for scholarships for the community of Stillwell. Another organization Jerry participated in for many years is the American Legion. In the late 1980`s through the early 1990`s, He was a three-term commander for Post #72 out of Alton, New Hampshire, District #7 Commander for the State of New Hampshire, Dept Vice Commander for the State of New Hampshire, and Legionnaire of the Year.

Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any scholarship fund that will help any child to further their education.
