York, ME- Albert J. Vanasse, 98, of York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
Condolence Messages
Thomas Robertssays
More than a moment of silence should be observed on Al’s passing, for truly
it must be noted he was part of The Greatest Generation that Tom Brokaw told
us about: the men and women who came of age during the Great Depression,
fought in WWII and went on to build modern America. Before and during his
years at the Providence Marriott and prior to returning to Maine due to the
infirmities of age, it was my pleasure to share many lunches and dinners with
Al and, as a staff member, to work with him in the Rhode Island legislature.
So much can be said about Al. But now is the time to extend condolences
and to give thanks for have had him among us these many years. He had a long
and fruitful life. May he rest in peace.
