Dover – Daniel Lovely, 96, a Portsmouth native, passed away April 23rd,2020 at his home in Dover with loving family by his side. Dan was born on February 14,1924 in Franklin, Louisiana a son of the late Abe and Emma (Riles) Lovely.
He honorably served his country for 18 years in the US Navy. After retirement, Dan became a bus driver for the Portsmouth School Department where he also worked as a security officer.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Haulda M. Lovely in 1994 and his son, Daniel Lovely, Jr. ( Junie) in 2009.
He is survived by his wife Tammy (Williams) Lovely, and her two children, his daughter Minelle Thomas with her children Chad & Christne Thomas, Shante & Shannon Knight, his daughter Helene Beecher and her husband Robert Beecher and their children, Tim & John Muse and RJ Beecher, his son Alfred Lovely and his wife Diane Lovely and their children Steven, Patrick, Tim, Mike, Kim , Brian and Jannell Lovely, his son Adrian Lovely and his grandchildren Tre and Christopher Lovely. He also leaves many great grandchildren.
He will be remembered and missed dearly for the fishing trips he took with his grandchildren.
